ELSEKEK: The annual Vocational Training Conference 14

It will take place with the participation of the relevant governmental and educational actors of the country tomorrow Thursday and the day after Friday, 14 and 15/11/2024 conference on vocational training organized by the Hellenic Association of Vocational Training Centers (ELSEKEK) at the Divani Caravel Hotel.

The theme of the conference is: “Vocational training as a driver of national development”.

In this context, the following will present their views on this major issue: Mr. Niki Kerameos, Minister of Labor and Social Security, Ms. Ioanna Hormova, DYPA Deputy Director, Mrs. Sophia Kounenaki-EfraimoglouPresident, Athens Chamber of Commerce and Industry (EBEA), Mrs. Sophia Zaharaki, Minister of Social Cohesion and Family, Mrs. Ioanna Lytrivi, Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Education, Religious Affairs and Sports Vasilios SpanakisDeputy Minister of the Interior, Ms. Anna Rokophyllou, President, Youth and Lifelong Learning Foundation (INEDIVIM), Mrs. Sofia Vultepsi, Deputy Minister of Immigration and Asylum, Mr. Demosthenes AnagnostopoulosGen. Secretary of Digital Governance. Distinguished academics as well as representatives of the business world will also present their positions on the needs that have formed in the labor market.

It is a conference of high standards which will give the opportunity to gather and talk to all those involved in the subject of Vocational Training. It is characterized by a dynamic composition of speakers from the government sector and agencies related to the operation of lifelong learning centers as well as academics. The program includes interactive discussions and a variety of specialized thematic modules which will spark a meaningful dialogue around vocational training.

Of particular interest are the three primary surveys carried out by leading polling companies commissioned by ELSEKEK, the findings of which will be presented during the two days of the conference and are eagerly awaited by training providers and market representatives.

The role of Vocational Training is essential as a dynamic tool for retraining and upgrading the skills of the initially unemployed. It aims to connect candidates with the requirements of the modern labor market by permanently improving the balance of supply and demand of candidates in the market.

By 2030, over 60% of jobs will require specialized digital skills. This means that vocational training programs need to be strengthened and further developed.
