Bloomberg News quoted the American magazine The New Yorker as reporting that Tesla CEO Elon Musk told U.S. defense executives that he had a private conversation with Russian President Vladimir Putin to discuss Space X’s provision of Starlink satellite network services to the Ukrainian military.

According to a report by The New Yorker on the 21st, Musk revealed the news in a conversation with then US Undersecretary of Defense Policy Colin Kahl in October last year. The road is not damaged by the Russian army.

Carr told The New Yorker that he speculates that the Russian side has gradually viewed the use of Starlink as assisting Ukraine in combat, making Musk increasingly nervous, and he is looking for a way to appease Russian concerns.

Neither Musk nor Carl, who returned to Stanford last month, responded to requests for comment.

“We are aware of the reports and interest in this, and the Department of Defense does have a contract with Starlink for this type of service,” Pentagon spokesman Jeff Jurgensen said via email. “As we have said before, given the Due to the critical nature of these systems, we are unable to release further details regarding the specific capabilities, contracts or partners of the systems at this time.”
