According to local German radio RBB and other media, Elon Musk, Tesla’s chief executive, is expected to visit the factory later today.
Production resumed on Wednesday at Tesla’s megafactory in Gruenheide, Germany, local German radio RBB reported, following an arson attack on a power pylon led to a costly power outage.
“The machines were restarted in a controlled and safe manner, so that the morning shift might resume its activities,” Michaela Schmitz, head of the site’s works council, told RBB radio.
According to RBB and other media outlets, Elon Musk, Tesla’s chief executive, is expected to visit the factory on Wednesday. “We will have a team meeting and Elon Musk will also be there,” said Michaela Schmitz. The company has so far declined to comment on the visit.
Hundreds of millions of euros in damages
The Tesla factory, located in the suburbs of Berlin, was reconnected to the electricity grid on Monday, following having been without power since March 5 due to the arson of a high-voltage line pylon near the site , which was claimed by a far-left group.
Tesla said it expects hundreds of millions of euros in damages due to the production disruption.
