Expectation Elon Musk Tesla’s chief executive said the electric-car maker’s total workforce will rise over the next 12 months, two days following news he plans to cut 10% of his jobs.
On Saturday, Musk said that the total number of employees at the company will increase, but the number of employees who receive a fixed salary will not change much.
The Tesla chief’s comment came in response to a comment received in a Twitter account, “predicting” that the number of Tesla employees will increase within the next 12 months.

Two days ago, Musk sent an email to the company’s executives, saying he had a “very bad feeling” regarding the economy and had to cut regarding 10% of the company’s jobs. Tesla shares were down 9.2% at the close on Friday.
A disclosure provided by Tesla to US regulators showed that the company and its subsidiaries had nearly 100,000 employees at the end of 2021.
