A disclosure with the US Securities and Exchange Commission stated, on Tuesday, that Tesla CEO Elon Musk donated shares worth $ 1.95 billion in the world’s largest automaker to charity last year.
The disclosure showed that Musk donated regarding 11.6 million shares between August and December of last year, but did not indicate who received the donations.
Musk had donated regarding $5.74 billion in 2021.
Analysts say Musk might benefit from gifting Tesla shares if he donates them to charity, because shares donated to charity do not have to pay capital gains tax as they would if they were sold.
