The Bloomberg report cites insiders and does not reveal how much money Musk donated. However, the amount Musk paid to the group America PAC was described as “significant.”
Political Action Committees or PACS are allowed to collect unlimited donations for political activities, but are not subject to the control of the candidates during the election campaign. According to Bloomberg, the America PAC must disclose its donor list on July 15.
In March, Trump met with Elon Musk and other wealthy donors. Musk then wrote on X that he was not donating money to either of the two candidates for the office of US president. In May, he also denied media reports that there had been discussions regarding a possible advisory role for him under a President Trump. Elon Musk has not yet responded to Reuters’ request for comment.
