Almost four years following Elon Musk unveiled the first light truck produced by “Tesla”; The electric automaker has built its first Cybertruck, according to Bloomberg.

Tesla announced the development on its Twitter account, posting a picture of workers wearing vests and helmets gathered around the car.

When Musk first showed off a prototype of the tapered truck in November 2019, the plan was for production to begin two years later.

Musk moderated expectations regarding how quickly Tesla might ramp up production, saying at the company’s annual meeting in May that the truck’s different design posed challenges.

He said the body of the truck would be made of stainless steel, which can be expensive and difficult to machine and weld.

Musk added, “We’re going to make what people want and can afford. It’s going to be hard to make it affordable because it’s a new car and a new manufacturing method.

Its production rate will be lower compared to all the other cars we make. But it’s still great.”
