MEXICO CITY.- The dispute between Nicolas Maduro and Elon Musk climbed to a new level, when the Owner of X and Tesla accepted the challenge of a fight that the Venezuelan president launched at him.
“I accept,” Musk replied on X to a publication in The New York Post where he spoke about how Maduro had challenged him to a fight.
On Monday, Maduro called Musk his “new archenemy” who “would like to invade Venezuela with his rockets and an army.”
And he threw down the gauntlet: “Do you want a fight? Let’s go for it, Elon Musk. I’m ready (…), I’m not afraid of you. Let’s go for it, wherever you want (…) Say where, but Venezuela must be respected. As we say here: If you want, I want.”
He also warned him: “Whoever messes with me, dries up. Whoever messes with Venezuela, dries up.”
Musk, in X, in addition to accepting the challenge, raised the stakes: “If I win, He resigns as dictator of Venezuela“If I lose, I’ll give you a free ride to Mars,” he said, referring to his space travel company SpaceX.
Musk even proposed that Mark Zuckerberg, with whom he had already challenged Maduro to a duel, join the fight with him.
According to Musk, “Zuck is a little guy” compared to a Maduro he described as “burly,” so, he said, “it would be a quick fight, LOL (acronym in English for laugh out loud).” However, he said that Maduro, in the end, would back down. “He will chicken out like a chicken,” he said.
On Tuesday, Maduro announced the creation of “a special commission to evaluate, with Russian and Chinese advice“the security system and, in particular, the attack that, according to his government, damaged the National Electoral Council’s communication system on Sunday and led to a delay of hours in the announcement of the results.
