In a discreet statement, the ELN guerrilla reported on Sunday night that its guerrilla units already have the instructions and protocol ready for the release of Luis Manuel Díaz, father of the Colombian soccer player, Luis Díaz, kidnapped on October 28 in the department of La Guajira by that subversive group.

According to the Northern War Front, which has Mr. Díaz in its power, the continuous military operations carried out in the area have delayed the release of Luis Manuel Díaz, who has been in captivity for 9 days.

In the document known to EL COLOMBIANO, the guerrilla asserts that “the area remains militarized, they carry out overflights, disembark troops, broadcast calls, offer rewards and an intense rake operation that does not allow the execution of the liberation plan in a quick and safe manner, where Mr. Luis Manuel Díaz is not at risk” and they add that if military operations continue in the area, “they will delay the release and increase the risks.”

The ELN’s response comes hours after the player Luis Díaz himself sent a message from England. Through a letter, the Colombian player asked this guerrilla to release his father. “Today the soccer player is not speaking to you, today Lucho Díaz is speaking to you, the son of Luis Manuel Díaz, Mane, my father is a tireless worker, our pillar in the family and he is kidnapped,” the letter says.

In a second paragraph, Díaz (son) lets them know of the anguish they are experiencing within their family due to Mr. Manuel’s plagiarism. “Every minute, every second our anguish grows, my mother, my brothers and I are desperate, anguished and without words to describe what we are feeling. “This suffering will only end when we have him back home.”

The Colombian soccer player’s message was complemented this Sunday when he scored a goal for his Liverpool team and dedicated it to his father, a dedication that was more of a request: “Freedom for dad,” he said on his shirt.

There is a large deployment of the Military Forces

And since last Friday, 300 men from the Military Gaula, in coordination with the Police, the CTI of the Prosecutor’s Office and with the support of the Colombian Aerospace Force, have been carrying out military operations to find the whereabouts of the soccer player’s father.

The 300 members of the Public Force search every piece of land in the Serranía del Perijá, where, according to Military Intelligence sources, they could have Mr. Luis Manuel Díaz.

“In the last few hours, technicians specializing in anti-kidnapping work with differential capabilities for search and rescue also arrived in Barrancas. Likewise, a special operations team that strengthens the device of the Military Forces,” reported from the Military Forces command.

Colonel Giovanni Montañez Acosta, National Director of the Gaula of the Military Forces, who is in charge of the different devices deployed, traveled to the area.

In less than 48 hours, this is the second statement from the ELN guerrilla in which they state that they are ready to release Luis Díaz’s father.
