On the night of this Friday, November 3, the ELN guerrilla group spoke out through an official statement in which it stated that it will begin the process of releasing the father of the Colombia and Liverpool National Team player, Luis Díaz.
As had been stated by the national government and from the negotiation table, the guerrilla group had the intention of releasing Luis Manuel Díaz, father of the Colombian player, in a few hours. However, they had not spoken until now, so there was still uncertainty in the air.

Now, following the official announcement through the insurgent group’s statement, they expressed that they are willing as an organization to begin the process to free Mr. Díaz, who was kidnapped along with his wife last Saturday, October 28, when they were mobilizing in the municipality. from Barrancas, La Guajira.
So with a rather unusual message, the National Liberation Army began its statement by saying that they are in solidarity with families who are experiencing pain for different reasons in Colombia.
“We are in solidarity with the families who experience pain and tragedies due to unemployment, the criminal violence of paramilitarism and the abandonment of the State. The corruption of political clans is the main threat to the stability of the region,” they expressed in the statement.
They later corroborated that the Northern Front of the guerrilla group was the intellectual author of the kidnapping of Luis Diaz’s parents, and that according to them, everything had an end, since they have economic missions.
However, they clarified that, as soon as they learned that the kidnapping involved a relative of the well-known player and loved by all Colombians, they proceeded to work on his release.
“The Northern War Front has commands with economic missions and one of them carried out a deprivation of liberty, which when it was reported and verified that it was Lucho Díaz’s father, his release was directed because he was a relative of the great athlete that we want. all Colombians”, detailed from the ELN.
Finally, without further words, they expressed that “from now on your release process begins and we want to avoid any incident.”
