Elles Marchent: A Woman from Lot’s Journey in the Moroccan Desert – Inspiring Adventure with Objectif CLAM Association

the essentials A woman from Lot took part in the 100% female and solidarity trek “Elles marchent” in the Moroccan desert at the end of February. She looks back on her experience.

Anne Franconne is the director of the ALAE (Leisure reception associated with the school) of Trespoux Rassiels, her commitment to others is known and effective. It was natural that she got involved in this human and humanist adventure.

The Objectif CLAM association is made up of Caroline Fabre, Laure Roux de Reilhac, Anne Francone and Marie Charlotte Aunay. The four women have embarked on this crazy challenge for the start of 2024: trekking in the Moroccan desert. They therefore participated in the “Elles Marchent” trek from February 23 to March 1, 2024. A team of four, made up of two sisters twice. This is the first 100% female orientation trek associated with solidarity action. Its founder and president of the “Le Défi du Coeur” association, Corinne Peron, has been organizing this event for seven years and managing it in a remarkable manner: security, mutual aid, humanity, sharing, solidarity are the recipe for its success.

The four Lotoise adventurers traveled 100,411 km in four days in the Merzouga desert with only tools: a map and a compass! The body remembers it but the feeling of usefulness and surpassing it.

“We are proud of what we have managed to accomplish”

“As soon as we arrived, the first evening, following discovering the camp, we mapped out our route for the next day: rigor, precision, concentration to be as fair as possible and cover as few km as possible! », Indicates Anne Franconne. The four adventurers covered 25 km per day, climbed mountains and of course dunes. “A beautiful human experience, rich in emotions, a great sporting challenge and breathtaking landscapes! », continues the director of the ALAE.

This year, the godmother of the edition was Florence Klein, European champion and vice-world champion in the 100 km in 2007, three times winner of the marathon des sables. “We met a kind person, who took the time to accompany us and encourage us along the way! », Describes the Lotoise. Bouchra Baibanou was also among the trekkers. She is the first Moroccan woman to have climbed Everest in 2017 and the first person in Morocco to have climbed all 7 peaks. “Such an inspiring and motivating woman! », smiles Anne.

The Objectif CLAM association stayed the course and ranked 35th out of 75 teams! “We are proud of what we managed to accomplish, we had a unique experience that binds us forever! », concludes the Lotoise. The adventure ended with a solidarity day in the village of Ramilia: repairing a roof, building walls, planting olive trees and creating frescoes on the walls of the school. Elected officials, colleagues and parents encouraged Anne in this adventure which is so much like her.
