I’m excited to join Boston Pride this season. Heard great things regarding this team and can’t wait to get on the ice
mentioned Giguère.
« I played four years in the eastern United States and I’m happy to go back. I love Boston and hope to help the team win a third straight Isobel Cup. »
The 25-year-old hockey player completed her college internship last spring with the University of Minnesota-Duluth Bulldogs. She had previously played four seasons with the Golden Knights from Clarkson University.
Originally from Quebec, Élizabeth Giguère left her mark as one of the best forwards in the history of the NCAA. She finished her college career with 295 points in 177 games, sixth all-time in Division 1.
In addition to giving Clarkson University the victory with a spectacular goal in overtime of the national championship final in 2018, Giguère was named the country’s most valuable player in 2020 (Patty Kazmaier trophy) in addition to amassing a good number individual awards over the years.
One of the best in the world?
The coach of Pride, Paul Mara is delighted to see a player as talented as Giguère join the ranks of his team. He believes that the Pride has just struck a blow.
We believe that Elizabeth will not only be one of the best players in our league, but possibly one of the best in the world. It’s a dream for us and a nightmare for opposing teams
did he declare.
The PHF will have seven teams next season with the addition of a team in Montreal.
