Elizabeth Blanco is a new member of Dreaming in Family

Soñando en Familia is a program for everyone in the home, which seeks out the dreams, desires and emotional and inspiring stories told by Guatemalan families. It has lots of fun, joy and games where everyone can win surprise prizes and cash.

This Monday, September 2nd, is Elizabeth’s debut on national television on the show Soñando en Familia which is broadcast from Monday to Friday at 8:00 p.m. on Guatevisión. This beautiful Jutiapa native is replacing Fátima Aragón, who is leaving the program to continue her studies.

Who is Elizabeth Blanco and what does she do?

I am originally from Jutiapa and I do a bit of everything. I have an entrepreneurial mind and as a result, I have three businesses, a fitness club called Zona Fitness that is now in its sixth year, a modeling agency and a resin product distributor. I am studying Communication, TV and Radio, as well as English and I love dancing salsa and bachata.

Appearances can be deceiving, anyone would believe that she is dedicated to the world of modeling.

Absolutely! A few days ago, someone made a comment that was not at all appropriate, “how wonderful your life is, without having to work and just living off of modeling,” and things really aren’t like that. Many people don’t know how complicated it is to start your own business, there are too many things that come into play for a business to be established. In my case, one of the motivations that made me look for my own means was the lack of opportunities in the country, an aspect that many young people suffer from today.

Lately you have been dedicated to your beauty pageantry, how did you decide to start in television?

The Guatemala Contest event and winning the crown of Reina Hispanoamericana 2024 has opened countless doors for me. I am very grateful to the organization and excited about everything that is to come. The opportunity to Dream with Family with Guatevisión was achieved, in part, because of all this.

I characterize myself as a woman who faces her fears. One of my challenges is speaking in public and that is why I started working in the media and beauty pageants.

Regarding your reign, when will you represent the country and where?

In January I will be traveling to Bolivia to represent the country at the 2025 Reina Hispanoamericana event. This pageant has always been held in this South American country and brings together the entire Hispanic-American community of the world. Approximately 50 girls are expected to arrive. It will definitely be an event full of beauty and very cultural.

What do you expect from this new stage in Soñando en Familia?

I am very happy for the opportunity, something that fulfills me completely is being able to belong to Guatevisión and be in this program aimed at all members of the Guatemalan home. I have realized that it is a program with a lot of joy, many prizes and too much knowledge. Here you never stop learning and all the games and dynamics are fun, educational and exciting!

You are joining a very complete team, where the stars are Ricardo Santander and Alejandra Portillo. How is the process of integrating into the team going?

I won’t lie, at first I felt very intimidated by Ricardo and Alejandra, they are two very well-known characters on television for their career and experience. But from the first day the whole team helped me to adapt and settle in the best way. There will always be mistakes, especially as a first-timer, but we have worked to ensure that this does not happen, the help of Ricardo and Ale has been fundamental for me.

What are your plans for the future?

I don’t want to stagnate and think that I’ve already achieved everything. I want to keep preparing myself and continue with my entrepreneurial mindset. I’m enjoying the media and my studies are a priority right now. My short-term goal is to establish myself and perform in the best way possible in Soñando en Familia and then, to represent the country in the best way possible in the international competition in January.
