The Lebanese artist, Elissa, was recently a guest on the “With Al-Sharyan” program, presented by the Saudi journalist, Daoud Al-Sharyan, on the MBC screen, where the conversation touched on a number of topics between private and artistic.
In response to a question from Al-Sharyan regarding her lack of marriage so far and her refusal to marry, Elissa said: “I separate love and marriage. A philosopher was asked once, how does a sane wife treat her husband? He replied, “A sane woman does not marry.”
Elissa’s answer shocked the Saudi journalist, who replied with a laugh, “Oh, cover, and a sane man does not marry either.”
Then Elisa answered the question seriously, saying: “When I was younger, love might have lived all the time, not a condition of getting married, I love the man strongly and I must complete my second half, and the idea of my marriage became out of my mind and delayed, and my mother and relatives when they wished me marriage was My father was once morest this, and he always said that we rejoice in her testimonies and work, and this was better.”
And she continued: When I started working and financially earning, I resigned financially, but I no longer feel that I need a man in my life. It is not wrong that I get married, and I lived more than one love story, and I felt from a personal experience the man’s jealousy of his partner’s success, many of whom I fell in love with tried to belittle me. A woman is not jealous of her husband’s success, but he is.”
The artist Elissa is 50 years old, but she does not care regarding her age, and prefers to enjoy her life the way she prefers.
