The Conamer published this Tuesday that it received the drafts to eliminate the NOM for the prevention, treatment and control of diseases caused by iodine deficiency; for the treatment of poisoning bite of scorpion; as well as for the prevention and control of leptospirosis in humans, in addition to the standard for epidemiological surveillance of this disease.

The Undersecretary of Health also sent the draft to cancel the NOM on the sanitary specifications for centers for the prevention and control of zoonoses related to dogs and cats.
On June 1, the DOF published the elimination of the official standards for the attention diseases such as breast cancer, cancer cervicalHIV, diabetes, hypertension, tuberculosis, among others; these guidelines defined the criteria to prevent, diagnose and treat diseases classified as public health problems.
After the debate on the elimination of NOMs arose, López-Gatell argued that they were not necessary since “comprehensive medical care” is guaranteed in the country.
For his part, the President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador He criticized those who opposed the cancellations as “medicine merchants” and said his opponents would not change his mind.
