Elie Domota, leader of the LKP, files a complaint for police violence

The lawyers of Elie Domota, leader of the LKP collective opposed to the vaccination obligation, announced Thursday that they had filed a complaint for “violence in meetings by a person holding public authority” during his arrest.

Elie Domota was arrested and taken into police custody for a few hours during a demonstration against the health pass and the vaccination obligation on December 30. He was summoned to court on April 7.

In this complaint, which was obtained by AFP, Elie Domota’s lawyers denounce “violent, humiliating and unjust aggression by the police”. The document also mentions “a scoundrel” and the fact that the union leader was “gassed in the face”.

“Elie Domota appears clearly targeted by the constabulary, he falls into a real trap, he is jostled”, explains to AFP Sarah Aristide, lawyer for Mr. Domota.

According to her, the 54-year-old man was “humiliated, arbitrarily arrested” and “was stuck in a procedure while he was the victim”.

Elie Domota was summoned to court on April 7 for “willful violence against a person holding public authority without ITT”.

“We are asking for the opening of a judicial investigation to identify each other, to see who did what, to put a name on the faces, to identify their degree of responsibility, because we are convinced that they do not not acted spontaneously and disinterestedly in the climate we know, “denounces the lawyer.

On images from local television Canal 10, broadcast on social networks and deleted shortly after, Elie Domota appears on the day of the demonstration advancing on a road with other demonstrators grabbing barriers. The images show the police trying to stop their advance with tear gas canisters.

In the following images, demonstrators force their way through and Elie Domota appears on the ground, the gendarmes handcuffing him behind his back.

A source within the gendarmerie then told AFP that “stone throwing” had caused the use of tear gas.
