Elham Shaheen about wearing the niqab in “Bloo’ Al-Rouh”: “I was suffocated” (video)

The Egyptian actress, Elham Shaheen, revealed what she felt while wearing the niqab during the events of the series “Btolo Al-Ruh”, shown last Ramadan.

Elham Shaheen stated, during her hosting of the “Al-Hekaya” program, shown on the “mbc Egypt” satellite channel, and presented by the media, Amr Adib, that she was upset while filming her scenes, due to the heavy weight of the veil, as she put it.

“Ilham” said regarding the experience of wearing the niqab: “Very disturbing. I was suffocated and the entire clothing weighed heavily. Shayla is a sheila plus the attached weapon, I am completely comfortable all the time.”

During filming, “Ilham” asked the director, Kamel Abu Zekry, to lift the veil for a while, but the latter was always refusing, according to her version: “It used to tell me that it doesn’t work.”

Other aspects

On the other hand, the artist, Ilham Shaheen, saw that the series “Baloo’ Al-Rouh” sheds light on the women’s side with regard to terrorism, as previous works have always focused on terrorists, not female terrorists, according to her opinion.

Elham indicated that she did not care regarding the attack she was subjected to before and during the show, adding that the series focused on external transfers received by terrorists, which appeared on a screen following the participants in the artwork presented a “PhD in ISIS,” as she put it.

It is worth noting that the series “Balloo Al-Rouh” starring Menna Shalaby, Ilham Shaheen, Ahmed Al-Saadani, Adel Karam, and Mohamed Hatem, written by Mohamed Hisham Obeya, and directed by Kamila Abu Zekry.
