ELGA: Compensation payment of 70 million euros to farmers – 2024-07-15 16:50:44

Today (26.2.2024) payments are being made by ELGA, amounting to 70 million euros to farmers, whose crop production and livestock rearing crops were damaged during 2023, according to the Minister of Rural Development, Lefteris Avgenakis and its president organization, Andreas T. Lykourentzou.

It is the 1st wave of compensation payments to farmers, in fact in one payment and 100% of the value of the results, with the aim of paying off ELGA’s obligations to the beneficiary producers as quickly as possible.

It is worth noting that the Organization’s payments should start following April 15, 2024 and since by March 31, 2024 the farmers must have paid the Special Insurance Contribution paid to ELGA.

The Minister of AAT, Mr. Lefteris Avgenakis, thanked the Management of ELGA, the executives and employees of the Organization, for the systematic effort they are making and urged to continue this effort, so that during the first half of 2024, all the compensations for the year 2023 have been paid and at the same time the compensation payments for the damages from the extreme weather events “Daniel” and “Elias” have been completed.
