At the weekend, the police once once more caught numerous pushers and speed offenders on the Tauernautobahn in the Hallein area.

When measuring distance and speed, the police found 173 violations on Saturday. In 135 of them the distance was too small and in 21 the speed was too high.

When the distance was exceeded, the shortest safety distance to the vehicle in front was 0.35 seconds, which means a distance of eleven meters at a measured speed of 114 km/h. At this speed, a safety distance of at least 31 meters would have to be maintained.

This slipstream driving will definitely be expensive: According to the ÖAMTC, an administrative penalty of up to 726 euros is due for a time difference between 0.4 and one second. If the distance is less than 0.4 seconds – as in this case – this costs up to 2180 euros. Anyone who drives even closer may even have to answer criminally for coercion. There is a fine anyway.

The highest speed measured this Saturday was 173 km/h with a permitted speed of 130 km/h. All handlebars are displayed.
