The Environmental Agency has again issued a storm warning for the whole of Estonia today: wind up to 28 meters with heavy rain. Elektrilevi has solved the malfunctions 24/7 with increased forces, and as of this morning, 2,000 customers are still without electricity. A crisis committee was assembled and the involvement of Elektrilevi’s crisis reserve in troubleshooting was launched.
A storm warning has been issued again for the whole of Estonia: strong winds with a speed of up to 28 meters per second with heavy rains, which means that the weather is dangerous. The storm has already broken many trees and branches, which has caused a lot of breakdowns across Estonia, but the most difficult situation is in Western Estonia, where approximately 2,000 customers are currently without electricity. As the storm winds strengthen, that number may increase.
“We are at work with increased forces in two shifts, and the brigades have done a great job during the day. We hope to fix all the medium voltage faults and most of the low voltage faults caused by Friday’s storm during today, but some of the low voltage faults will still have to be solved tomorrow,” said Mihkel Härm, chairman of the board of Elektrilevi.
Winds on the coast will start to pick up again in the evening, making the weather very dangerous and making troubleshooting difficult. “With strong winds, performing electrical work can become life-threatening, and people’s safety is the most important thing. We also remind people to follow all warnings, stay away from broken power lines and stay safe and healthy at home in dangerous weather,” said Mihkel Härm, the chairman of the Elektrilevi board.
Elektrilevi and partners will do everything in their power to resolve faults and restore electrical connections as quickly as possible.

**Interview with Mihkel Härm, Chairman of the Board of Elektrilevi**
**Host:** Good morning, Mihkel! Thank you for joining us today to discuss the recent power outages caused by the severe weather conditions in Estonia. Could you start by summarizing the current situation?
**Mihkel Härm:** Good morning, and thank you for having me. As we speak, Estonia is experiencing a significant storm with winds reaching up to 28 meters per second accompanied by heavy rain. This has caused widespread damages, leading to approximately 2,000 customers currently without electricity, especially in Western Estonia. Our teams are working around the clock, but the conditions are challenging.
**Host:** That sounds quite serious. What measures has Elektrilevi taken to address these outages?
**Mihkel Härm:** We’re operating with increased manpower, working in two shifts to tackle the issues as quickly as possible. Our brigades have made substantial progress, and we aim to resolve all medium voltage faults and most low voltage faults caused by Friday’s storm today. However, some low voltage issues may need to be addressed tomorrow.
**Host:** How does the extreme weather pose a risk to your crews working to restore power?
**Mihkel Härm:** Working in strong winds and heavy rain can be life-threatening for our teams. We prioritize their safety above all else. If we encounter conditions that are too dangerous, we may have to pause the work temporarily to ensure everyone’s well-being. We also encourage the public to stay away from downed power lines and to take precautions at home.
**Host:** What should customers do if they experience a power outage during this situation?
**Mihkel Härm:** We advise customers to report outages using the MARU application or by calling our emergency line at 1343. Keeping our communication lines open is vital, especially in these trying times.
**Host:** Mihkel, thank you for outlining the situation and your efforts. Is there anything else you’d like to share with our listeners?
**Mihkel Härm:** Just a reminder to everyone to stay safe. Follow all weather warnings, avoid unnecessary travel, and stay at home if possible during this storm. We’re committed to restoring power as soon as we can, but people’s safety is paramount.
**Host:** Thank you, Mihkel. Stay safe, and best of luck to you and your team as you work through these challenges.
**Mihkel Härm:** Thank you!
