Electronic Arts has unveiled its version of the Monster Hunter game. reedus

Electronic Arts, in collaboration with Koei Tecmo, has unveiled a new hunting game Wild Hearts, which is very similar to Monster Hunter in its concept: instead of the usual bears, wolves and tigers, players will hunt fantastic animals in the fantasy world of Azuma.

Of course, you need to go to special game with special weapons, and here such are the mechanisms called Karakuri, created on the basis of lost ancient technologies. As you can see in the trailer, the Karakuri are capable of some pretty impressive things – they can be both wings for the hero and a giant bomb with which to blow up the enemy.

In general, Karakuri is a whole arsenal in one little thing that can become a sword, bow and any other tool of lawlessness, including a devil with a huge hammer that literally jumps out of a snuffbox. It’s both fresh and funny enough – quite in the style of modern EA.

However, you will hunt not only for the sake of excitement: you have a noble goal in front of you. The kingdom of Azuma was once a very peaceful and calm place, but the local living creatures suddenly went crazy, and the hero will have to restore balance in this troubled ecosystem.

Koei Tecmo Vice President Yosuke Hayashi in every possible way denies from similarities to Monster Hunter and stresses that his team is aiming for a different experience, although at this stage of development, the two games look like twins.

The game will offer solo and co-op hunting for up to three players, and will be released with cross-platform support on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S. The project is being developed by Koei Tecmo’s Omega Force division, which is best known for its action games, and the game is published by Electronic Arts Originals India, so it looks interesting.

Wild Hearts is set to release on February 17, 2023.
