Electrolux microwave oven software update accident forced the oven system to not work – Hong Kong unwire.hk

Smart home has now become a product selling point for many home appliance manufacturers, automatically connecting to the Internet to update software to bring new functions. Recently, however, the microwave oven of the appliance brand Electrolux was unable to work for more than two weeks due to an automatic software update.

According to reports, recently, a hybrid microwave oven KMK968000T under the Swedish home appliance brand Electrolux turned into a steam oven system following an automatic update, making the microwave oven completely inoperable. The oven was unable to operate due to different functions, and it has not been repaired for more than two weeks, which made users very dissatisfied.

Electrolux has confirmed the incident, indicating that one of its employees made an error when manually entering the update number, resulting in an update error. The incident affected all microwave ovens of the same model in the Benelux region, and the affected microwave ovens might not even use the WiFi function, so the problem might not be corrected remotely and needed to be returned to the original factory for repair. Some users reported that they received 300 euros worth of gratin as compensation.
