In SNT and old cottage villages, transformers are often not designed for modern volumes of electricity consumption. In winter, the situation gets worse because many people turn on electrical heating appliances. The RMNT website will talk regarding energy storage devices that will help cope with problems.

Voltage fluctuations and power outages are a reality in many suburban villages. In summer, the load on the network decreases and there are fewer problems. In winter, you can be left without heating and encounter breakdowns of household appliances, because voltage drops reach an unacceptable 30–45%. The traditional way to solve the problem of power outages is with gasoline and diesel generators. But they cannot deal with power surges; additional installation of a stabilizer is required.
Install a gasoline generator it is only possible on the street, it operates loudly, consumes a large amount of fuel and often cannot meet all the owners’ electrical needs; it is not designed for high power. An alternative is an energy storage device – an analogue of a Power Bank, but not for smartphones, but for the whole house.

Electricity storage devices are, in fact, batteries that can operate either from a centralized power supply network or in conjunction with solar panels or wind generators. The portal Rmnt.ru wrote regarding the differences between network and battery solar power plants, mentioning the autonomy of the latter. Modern energy storage devices include three components:
Modern drives work simply – they are connected to the house’s power supply system using a KG 4×6 or 5×6 cable. Exposed wiring is hidden in a corrugation or a special plastic channel. When the power supply is OK, the device stores energy. If the electricity supply is turned off, the drive begins to send it to the network automatically. The owners will not notice that there is a power outage or a power surge in the village.

There are many advantages to using electricity storage devices in a private home:
- It can be connected to solar panels or a wind generator to ensure the cottage is self-sufficient and does not depend on the centralized power supply.
- Modern storage devices automatically and instantly begin to supply electricity to the network if the centralized supply stops due to an accident. Owners simply won’t notice any problems; household appliances and heating will continue to work normally. How long the drive will last depends on its power, the number of batteries and the level of energy consumption. When electricity appears, the drive will monitor the voltage for several minutes, then automatically switch to charging mode – it will take regarding 6 hours for it to charge and go into “sleep” mode.
- The drive works as a stabilizer, protecting household appliances from voltage surges and equalizing it.
- If the power grid stops “pulling” due to too much energy consumption, the drive will provide the missing kilowatts.
- In villages where there is a separate tariff for electricity, the storage device can be set to charge at night and use its energy during the day, saving money.
- Compact dimensions and an attractive box for batteries and inverter allow you to install the drive on the wall in the living room or hallway.
Important! Lithium-ion batteries are not installed outdoors in cold climates – they will not withstand winter conditions.

The leader in the global production of modern “smart” energy storage devices is Tesla. Domestic complexes for autonomous power supply to homes are produced by Volts and Rosatom. An effective solution for private houses in villages where there are frequent problems with power supply. Complete with solar panels – an excellent option for ensuring autonomy. However, there is a significant drawback – large initial investments. The cost of the drive starts at 300 thousand rubles and can reach 1 million rubles.
