From January 2nd to June 30th, through the pollution-free car integrated website
[에너지데일리 최일관 기자] The Ministry of Environment (Minister Han Hwa-jin) announced that from January 2 to June 30, 2023, through the pollution-free vehicle integrated website (www.ev.or.kr), anyone can apply for a common electric vehicle charger necessary for apartment houses and workplaces.
In the meantime, only private charging companies might apply for slow charger installation, but the procedure has changed so that from now on, representatives of apartment dwellings can apply directly.
It is explained that this is to solve the problem of increasing unused and neglected chargers due to excessive charger installation at one point, and to reduce charging blind spots such as apartment houses (townhouses, etc.) and individual businesses that avoid installation. In addition, it is expected that it will help alleviate disputes caused by overheated competition among electric vehicle charging companies.
Those wishing to install a common slow charger for electric vehicles can connect to the ‘Emission-Free Vehicles Integrated Nurijip-Direct Application’ and apply for the project by selecting the desired project execution institution from 1 to 3.
When applying, a building register is required, and if the applicant for installation is not the building owner or the representative of the occupants, a consent form or meeting minutes of at least 80% of the occupants is also required to prevent false applications.
The Ministry of Environment plans to conduct ‘pre-professional diagnosis (consulting)’ to help guide the charger installation, from the appropriate number of chargers to the appropriate installation location, to tenant representatives and local governments.
“We will create a slow charging environment centered on residential areas so that there is no difficulty in using electric vehicles in normal times,” said Park Yeon-jae, director general of air quality policy at the Ministry of Environment.
