The National Institute of Technology and Standards of the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy announced that the amendment to the Electric Household Appliances Safety Act, which contains the rationale for reusing batteries following using electric vehicles, was approved at the Cabinet meeting.
This bill contains the legal basis for a safety inspection system to ensure that used batteries from electric vehicles can be reused in electrical storage devices without disposing of them.
The National Information Service plans to prepare standards for designating battery safety inspection agencies and develop inspection methods to reduce inspection time and cost and promote reuse.
