Electric train on the way: Creating noisy nights in North Jutland

Electric train on the way: Creating noisy nights in North Jutland

The electrification will take place from 9 December 2024 to 30 June 2025 and will take place between 20:05 and 05:00 from Sunday evening to Friday morning.

It takes place during the specified time to avoid disrupting train operations during the day.

However, this means that some residents will hear noise from the construction in the evening and night hours.

Banedanmark has just completed the renewal of the tracks on the section, which means that they must now start framing mast foundations and setting up running current masts on the section between Skalborg and Aalborg Airport.

The noise is caused by the fact that the running current masts must be bolted to concrete foundations, which are rammed into the ground with ramming machines every 10-80 metres.

Foundations and ramming of concrete foundations unfortunately cannot avoid noise and create vibrations, just as light projectors are used during the work, according to an information letter that has been sent out to the residents of the stretch.

It will take approx. 30 minutes to hammer a concrete foundation into the ground, but it can take longer around train stations.

Banedanmark cannot specify exactly where and when they work on the line in the individual weeks, as they work in several places at the same time.

However, there are also positive things to look forward to after the work is finished, as there are several advantages to electric trains and electrification, such as: more stable operation, less noise when the trains leave the stations, and better environmentally and climate-friendly trains, which emits less CO2.
