A new chinese electric truck arrived in Brazil promising a range of 150 km. The vehicle belongs to the group XCMG, which despite not being well known by the public, has been operating in the country for almost 20 years. Furthermore, the model is E7-49T and it arrives with a suggested price of BRL 1.3 million.
Without a doubt, it is significantly more expensive than its combustion-powered counterparts. However, one of its main advantages is the lower cost per kilometer traveled. In this sense, he spends R$ 0.75 per km, while a diesel truck generates a cost of R$ 3.60 per km.
As for the specifications, the truck has an electric motor with a power of 482 hp and torque of 204.1 kgfm. In addition, it has a maximum speed of 84 km/h, four-speed automated transmission and 6×4 traction, according to information from the manufacturer.
The vehicle also stands out for being able to operate at a low noise level. As such, it can be a useful option for fulfilling nighttime urban tasks both indoors and in residential areas. As already mentioned, the promised autonomy of the model is 150 km and it can be recharged in just over an hour.
Despite the high value, the company expects to sell around 800 trucks a year. This is the first in our market homologated to run on the streets with a Total Gross Combined Weight (PBTC) of 49 tons with electric-only propulsion.
