Electric car – The ORA Funky Cat arrives in the UK announcing hot prices

MG and Aiways are only the first Chinese brands to land on the Old Continent: here is now ORA with its lovely Funky Cat which already scores a first point by not being an SUV.

The ORA Funky Cat, from the Chinese group Great Wall and one of the most endearing electric cars on the market today, is arriving on the European continent starting with the United Kingdom. This aesthetic cocktail of Mini and Beetle will fight hard there, especially with the Volkswagen ID.3 and the electric Renault Megane E-Tech by being able to count on its overflowing personality, its technical sheet which is not ridiculous and above all aggressive prices.

From June, the British will be able, once morest a refundable payment of £100 (approximately €118), to reserve the first models of the special launch series soberly baptized First Edition with first deliveries announced in the fall. And its equipment is incredibly complete since it includes adaptive cruise control, 360° camera, LED headlights, 18-inch rims, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto on-board connectivity as well as induction phone charger and electrically adjustable front seats.

But where the ORA Funky Cat should score points is in terms of prices since this very well-equipped version is exchanged for the equivalent of €38,000 without state aid, which is close to ‘a Renault Megane E-Tech EV40 Boost Charge entry-level with less generous endowment. It is also guaranteed for 5 years without mileage limit and the battery for 8 years or 160,000 km. Service intervals are two years or 30,000 km.
