Electric car sales grow 41% in Brazil in 2022 and new businesses are boosted

Data from Associação Brasileira do Veículo Elétricos (ABVE) point out that the national market already has more than 100,000 electrified cars, including hybrid and electric models, and reveal that the sector is constantly growing in Brazil.

According to figures released by the ABVE, there were 49,245 units sold in the country in 2022, a figure that represents a 41% increase compared to 2021 data. The trend is for this market to continue to rise in 2023.

Currently, according to ABVE, 40 manufacturers offer 119 models of electrified light vehicles in Brazil. In addition, the charging infrastructure has been increasing its area of ​​operation, with new charging stations being installed in the country.

Also according to the association, sales of electrified light vehicles in Brazil had, in November 2022, the second best month in the historical series: almost 5,000 units were registeredsurpassed only by September (6,391).

New businesses are also generated with an eye on this market, as is the case of GravoMark, a company that distributes products from the French multinational Gravotech in Brazil, such as machines for micropunching and laser engraving.

This type of equipment can be used in parts such as the chassis, engine and plate numbers, in addition to indications on the gearbox, axle, bodywork, seat belt, among others, and can help in the production line of electric vehicles.

“In addition to all the documentation, electric cars are tracked and identified, in this way, with specific markings, which are present in these models even on the door knob lock, for example. The marking is something required by law and necessary as a registration and documentation of this type of transport. We are aware of the legal requirements and also following the growth of industry 4.0”, commented the executive manager of GravoMark, Juliano Moura.
