Wallonia currently has only 26 charging points on its motorways. The four double terminals of the Baraque de Fraiture will bring this number to 34. Totally insufficient compared to the Belgian electric car fleet (more than 100,000 cars) but also abroad. “It’s a real problem”explain Hugues Dhayer, director of EV Belgium, the electromobility federation. “Not only for Belgians, but also for those who cross our country. We are a central node in Europe and tourists or businessmen and women do not have the possibility to recharge their electric vehicle.

Absent for the moment, the Minister of Walloon Mobility Philippe Henry communicated the deployment plan to us. It says that by March this year, 1,500 to 2,000 public charging stations were installed and operational with the aim of reaching 5,700 charging points by 2026. This should meet the estimated needs for 77,000 electric vehicles.
