Electric Bus Lines 46, 53, and 89: New Terminals and Construction Updates in Brussels

2023-09-01 07:28:46

“Bus lines 46, 53 and 89 will switch to electric mode by 2025,” said Stib on its X account (ex-Twitter). The Westland and Moortebeek terminuses will therefore soon be reconfigured to accommodate new electric buses.

New bus terminals

The bus stops located on boulevard Joseph Bracops will soon be reconfigured to accommodate the new electric buses by 2025, indicates the Brussels transport service on its website.

These are the two bus terminals “Westland” (located on boulevard Joseph Bracops between boulevard Sylvain Dupuis and the access ramp to the E19 – R0) and “Moortebeek” (located at the end of boulevard Joseph Bracops) where end lines 53 and 89 and line 46 respectively.

These bus lines will become electric by 2025. Who says electric, says less noisy and non-polluting. Nevertheless, the electrification of bus lines requires some major adjustments. Contractors (Sibelga, Vivaqua) will also take advantage of this work to work on their facilities.
