In one year, sales of electric bikes have increased by 12% in France, due in particular to attractive prices.
The electric bicycle sector is doing well, with a 12% increase in sales in one year in France, thanks in particular to slashed prices in recent months. “I bought it for 899 euros, it’s a good deal“, confides a cyclist who took the plunge, Sunday August 6. In a store in Toulouse (Haute-Garonne), promotions attract families. “Often these bikes replace the second car, which was used to take the children to school and to run errands”explains David Albert, Ecox store manager.
“A utility vehicle”
“You can put panniers on these bikes, it really becomes a utility vehicle“, he explains. In the Paris region, another specialist goes even further by offering up to 1,000 euros in reductions on certain models. The reduced prices are used to sell off its stock, which is twice as large as in previous summers. This is the result of extended delivery times last winter.
