Asuncion, IP Agency.- Authorities from the Electoral Court and the Municipality of La Colmena, department of Paraguarí, met to develop documentation days from September to December of this year, through Civic Centers, with the purpose of promoting the active participation of citizens and strengthening democracy.
To this end, the director of Electoral Identity, Luis Alberto Salas, and the mayor of La Colmena, Sergio Galeano, met in view of the documentation days.
Within the framework of the gradual expansion of the Electoral Registers to Civic Centers throughout Paraguay, the electoral institution and the municipality of La Colmena plan to carry out, once a month, ID card service sessions, run by the Identification Department of the National Police, issuance of birth certificates by the Civil Registry, as well as information about the services provided by other institutions.
The future Civic Center will also have all the services that the Electoral Court currently has, such as registration and updating of data in the Permanent Civic Registry (RCP), assistance to intermediary organizations, management of educational, labor and socio-community internships and applications for the Accessible Vote program.
During the meeting, the possibility of building a facility for the Identification Department was also discussed, with the aim of making it easier for citizens of Colmena and the surrounding districts to permanently manage their documents.
This coordinated effort between the institutions involved seeks to bring quality services to the general public in all Civic Centers of the Electoral Justice.
