the leftist candidate Gustavo Petro resumed this Saturday first place of voting intention for the Colombian presidential following two weeks of technical draws in the polls with the independent populist Rodolfo Hernandezwhich he leads by 10 percentage points, according to a new survey.

Compared to the survey published last week by this same firm, Petro rose three percentage points and Hernández, who was mayor of Bucaramanga between 2016 and 2019, fell six.

On the other hand, a 13% of those surveyed assured that they would vote blankwhile 7% said “don’t know/no answer”.

mixed welcome

The head of debate for Petro’s campaign, Alfonso Prada, assured that this survey, “the last one before the elections”, shows that your candidate will win and that “change is unstoppable.”

Meanwhile, candidate Hernandez criticized the pollster and said that his “seriousness and credibility” was “suspiciously demonstrated on May 29”, in the first presidential round, if what he predicted and the final results are taken into account.

“I favored Petro with 2% and I was grotesquely disadvantaged at -15.4%“said the presidential candidate in Twitter.

This Saturday’s survey has a margin of error of 3.2% and they were interviewed for it 1,234 people from 60 municipalities.

This survey is key because It is the last one that comes out to the publicsince as of Sunday the law does not allow to publish more.

It also contrasts with the results of others published in the last 48 hours, such as that of Invamermade for The Spectator, Caracol News y Blue Radio and in which Hernández obtains 48.2% of the voting intention, while Petro obtains 47.2%, which configures a dead heat.
