Election Fever Grips Bulgaria: Rivalries Reach Boiling Point as Parliamentary Polls Approach

On September 27, the pre-election campaign for the vote on October 27, with which we elect the deputies for the 51st National Assembly, began.

The Central Election Commission (CEC) urged parties and coalitions not to violate good manners during the campaign.

On October 3, the pre-election debates began on the program “This Morning” on bTV. They are held according to a regulation developed by the team.

In the first round, the participants have an equal opportunity to answer the presenters’ questions and enter into an open discussion on the priorities of their pre-election programs, as well as the possibilities of forming a regular government.

The second round is the so-called crossfire – in it the opponents challenge each other with questions. At the final, each of the participants can address their messages to the voters within 30 seconds.

In the debate today, we invited the representatives of the first seven political forces with the greatest chances of participating in the next National Assembly according to the data of the sociological agencies with which bTV works.

Our invitation was not accepted by “Alliance for Rights and Freedoms”, “DPS-New Beginning” and “There is Such a People” (ITN).
