“Eldorado”, the new tour of Guyanese artist Kélyan Horth

The artist Kélyan Horth undertakes a new tour in Guyana, with his new opus “Eldorado”. He arrives in Maripasoula this Friday, February 23. A subtle blend of “folk country” tones, “Amazonian Touch”, and traditional and contemporary music.

Guyana, its lush nature, its cultural richness, is the breeding ground, the very essence, of the inspiration of the artist Kélyan Horth. Each piece of his new opus “Eldorado” embodies the name of a river in Guyana. An album that makes us discover or rediscover these sometimes unknown rivers, to the sound of traditional, urban music, and gospel. Artists from the new local and international scene, cike T2i, Elia or even Lova Jah, have collaborated on this new album. The artist does not hesitate to define it as “magical with a very Amazonian touch”.

Fairy tales and legends of Guyana

Among the Amerindians, Guyana means “land of abundant water”, it is the starting point of my project, the names of the rivers, the creation of melodies, to present and enhance each commune of Guyana.

For the artist Kélyan Horth, Guyana is lush, bewitching, inspiring, and not confined to the coast. Hence the importance of starting his tour to present “Eldorado”, between Grand Santi, Maripasoula and Saint-Laurent du Maroni. Countries where the canoe and the rivers are a central social link. Beyond the tour, music and rhythm workshops are organized in these municipalities. Free workshops open to all.

I wanted to organize these workshops, to pass on my passion.

Lulled from an early age by songs heard in church, Kélyan Horth grew up in a family of artists. He began learning the piano at the age of seven, with classical, before discovering gospel, jazz, and other styles of music.

After obtaining his baccalaureate, he decided to leave for the Paris region in order to satisfy his passion for music. He began by accompanying many artists across France, such as Gregory Turpin, Natasha Saint Pier or Maître Gims, to name but a few.

Over time, he refined his own artistic universe, a syncretism of all the musical influences that marked his life.

They come to join the rest of the artists of the first part: Saïna Manotte, Jesulord Hyppolyte, Ludovic Faledam, Mickaelle Leslie, Prisca Vua, Emmelyne Octavie, and Ralph Lavital.
