Elderly man fell into a 2.5 meter deep hole

North Jutland Emergency Services rushed to Kræmmersgade in Nibe on Tuesday evening, where the report was that a person had fallen into a 2.5 meter deep hole.

It turned out that it was a hole that had been excavated in connection with road work.

– It is an elderly man who has somehow forced a cordon that has been, and then he has fallen into such a digging box, says operations leader at North Jutland’s emergency services Anders Brosbøl.

When the emergency services arrived at the address, the man was lying down in the hole and could not move.

– He was pinned between the digging box and the slope on the ground 2.5 meters below, says the incident leader.

The firefighters had to jump into the hole themselves to lift the elderly man out of there. When the man was safely out of the hole, he was picked up by an ambulance and taken to the emergency room.

The incident leader finds it difficult to assess the man’s condition, but states that he was conscious.

– Of course he froze and was definitely bruised and didn’t feel very good lying down there, says Anders Brosbøl.
