And we don’t talk speedrun records that follow one another Where hilarious, amazing or intriguing mods which have recently appeared in the title of FromSoftware.
No, this time, we are indeed talking regarding the discoveries that some players make while browsing within the immense open-world developed by FromSoftware, like secret walls Where mysterious buildings hinting at potential future DLCsor directly in the game files. Just this weekend, a player came across a series of items scattered throughout the game files.Elden Ring which would refer to a feature not kept in the final version.
The secrets of the Underworld unearthed
Casually, the players took literally the instructions suggested by this kind of master of the game that is Hidetaka Miyazaki: if you want to learn more regarding Elden Ringyou will have to invest yourself and unearth the slightest clue of understanding of its universe by yourself. But fans of the Japanese studio’s games may have applied it a little too rigorously, as Twitter user JesterPatches demonstrates with his recent discovery.
Looking through the game files I came across a few icons making me believe that a bestiary was planned at some point.
There are 128 icons showing different NPCs. Each NPC shown has 2 icons, one greyed out and another one filled in, so it might be not found and found. pic.twitter.com/9b0Tj6ckm3

Instead of going to the lands of the Underworld in the hope of elucidating certain mysteries ofElden Ringthe latter plunged into the abyss of the game files to unearth a series of icons. Numbering 128, 64 grayed out for as many icons filled in, these suggest that FromSoftware would have developed a bestiary for Elden Ring : the two types representing NPCs (non-player characters) — whether animals, humans or any other creature — encountered or not during the adventure.
In addition to the surprise of the discovery of the remains of this bestiary, there is another which is reflected in the words of JesterPatches reported in his little Twitter thread. Indeed, although he was able to identify some of the characters, such as Caelid’s dog or crow, he did not recognize them all. An amazing detail, to be sure, but which might indicate additional content with a still unknown fauna. Ultimately, Elden Ring remains, despite everything, very mysterious!
