El Tiempo: Colombia decided to send military to help Ukraine

The publication El Tiempo has learned that in July or August a group of military personnel from Colombia will go to Ukraine.

The Colombian authorities plan to provide support to the Armed Forces of Ukraine “in demining work.” First, the military will be sent to one of the countries neighboring Ukraine. The total period of stay of Colombians abroad will be from 5 to 9 months.

Colombian Defense Minister Diego Molano explained that military assistance to Ukraine is provided as a country with the status of “Main ally outside NATO.” Colombia’s actions under this assistance have been agreed with US Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin.
