Antigua GFC was superior to Communications on the night of this Wednesday, March 27, and ended up winning 3 goals to 0 in a duel corresponding to matchday 13 of the 2024 Clausura Tournament.
In the middle of the major week, the colonial team imposed its home status at the Pensativo stadium once morest the white team and was thanks to the goals of Dewinder Bradley, Cristian Hernández and Romario da Silva that he will be able to sleep peacefully since he will maintain his lead regardless of what Cobán Imperial and Mixco do in the rest of the day.
From the beginning of the match Antigua appeared superior; during a large stretch of the game to Communicationswho debuted a colorful orange uniform, he was stopped by goalkeeper Fredy Perez.
Romario Da Silva and Newton Williams were the players who brought the most danger to the Comunicaciones goal, but the Guatemalan goalkeeper remained attentive to prevent them from scoring.
The good work that Pérez did was not accompanied by his teammates since just following the second half began, Andy Domínguez left his team with 10, thus complicating the Communications panorama.
With one more player on the court, Antigua stepped on the accelerator and went in search of the result. It was in the 67th minute that the green belly team’s efforts finally bore fruit as Dewinder Bradley made a great individual play orchestrated by Cristian Hernández effective and made it 1-0.
Communications barely reacted when once more Cristian Hernández did his thing and beat Fredy Pérez with a powerful shot from outside the area to make it 2-0.
With the score in their favor and with the advantage of having one more man on the field, Antigua touched the ball and the public that attended the stadium sang “Olé, Olé” while the colonial team maintained possession of the ball.
In the remaining minutes Antigua continued its siege on Comunicaciones and when it seemed that history was already written, the Brazilian Romario Da Silva resolved well once morest the departure of Fredy Pérez and scored the third goal of the night.
This results further boosts the leadership of the colonial team: in 13 days of Clausura 2024 Antigua has 28 points, four more than Cobán Imperial and six above Mixco, which occupy the second and third places in the championship.
Communications, for its part, remains in fourth place with 21 points and will continue there until at least the next day.
