El Paso’s Famous 3D Balloon Mural Series Grows To #11 With ‘Love’

Local artist Tino Ortega is spreading ‘Love’ with the latest addition of his 3D balloon mural series across El Paso.

El Paso muralist Tino Otega is back with a new 3D balloon mural in East El Paso off Geronimo. So far, Ortega has created eleven murals, including his latest Love-themed 3D Balloon mural (minus one short-lived mural near the convention center in downtown El Paso).

It’s also interesting to note that his latest Love-themed mural coincides with the number 11, considered a Karmic number in numerology, associated with spiritual awakening offering insight, higher energy, inspiration, and creativity.

The popular artist who owns Galeria Lincoln in South Central El Paso was recently in Uvalde taking part in the art collective The Healing Murals of Uvalde Project, featuring Texas artists creating murals in honor of the children lost during the Robb Elementary School shooting.

After working on that art collab for a couple of weeks, he is back in town working on his 3D balloon mural series that began as an homage to the 23 souls we lost during the August 3 tragedy in 2019.

Each mural tells a different story, and to help bring awareness, Ortega, along with Last Thursdays El Paso, in partnership with Visit El Paso, has been hosting free shuttle tours as an opportunity to tour all the murals in central, downtown, and west El Paso.

So far, Ortega has created eleven murals, including his latest Love-themed 3D Balloon mural (minus one short-lived mural near the convention center in downtown El Paso).

Thankfully all these murals have been made possible by local patrons and businesses donating wall space and the cost of materials, with Ortega offering his artistic services for free to bring these beautiful murals to life across the city.

On his quest to reach number mural #23, Ortega plans to expand his reach and hopes to branch out to other parts of the city, including Northeast El Paso.

In the meantime, anyone who wants to reach out to Tino Ortega to offer wall space or assistance to reach his goal can contact him via Instagram or Facebook.
