Some 150 German, Swiss and Austrian immigrants have created a gated community in Paraguay to live without vaccines and “out of the matrix”. The Guardian, who was not allowed to enter, describes the establishment of the conspiratorial colony in the region, one of the poorest in the country.
On the red soil of the Caazapá region, located in southern Paraguay, grows soybeans, cotton and sugar cane. Cultures to which has recently been added a closed community of 1,600 hectares, whose gates are guarded by armed men, called El Paraíso Verde, “the green paradise”.
Since the start of the pandemic, it has grown from four members to some 150 today, mainly from Germany, Switzerland and Austria, and counts on the next installation of nearly 3,000 new members.
A refuge for followers of conspiracy theories
The colony is “a haven for Covid deniers”, explique The Guardian, reporting the remarks made on the Paraíso Verde YouTube page. The English daily also quotes their site, where the founders explain that, if they sought “a new horizon”, it’s because of “the socialist trend that economics and politics are taking throughout the world, […] 5G, chemtrails, fluoridated water, compulsory vaccination and health orders”.
