International master Julian Villca wins Beggia Turismo International Cup

Julián Villca, a 23-year-old international master from Salta, won the first international “Beggia Turismo” Chess Cup, which attracted about 90 players from all over the country and the world .

The competition is held at the Manuel Belgrano Library in the UNC School of Economic Sciences.

Like international master Pablo Acosta, Villca is the best player in the Salta region and he showed that in six rounds, five wins and one draw.

He was accompanied by Antonio Almiron, an international teacher from Paraguay. Taking the podium was former Cadet World Champion Marcelo Tempone. The two ended up with five points each.

Awards

The cup awards various cash prizes to the best finishers and special prizes for different categories. Among them is 14-year-old Camila Ferrin, who emerged as the best female in the “Beggia Turismo” International Cup.

There is no doubt that this event is one of the most important events in Córdoba in the past 15 years, mainly due to the support of the company “Beggia Turismo”.

The competition is sponsored by the Argentine Chess Federation (FADA) and the Cordoba Provincial Chess Federation (FAPC). It is arbitrated by national referee Dario Soto and the team and organization of Guillermo Sope and Juan Carlos Carranza.
