The color television series featured a new version of Jacinta Pichimahuida, this time played by Cristina Lemercier. That role was undoubtedly the most talked about in the entire series. The actress managed to give essential nuances to make the dark and grumpy character someone viewers could root for. In fact, the scenes Carrá shared with Marina Castillo, who played the maid Doris, gained prominence within the narrative and became some of the most anticipated moments for the audience.
However, when Aptra announced the nominees for the Martín Fierro awards, many were surprised by Carrá’s absence from the lists. In a year with limited television fiction, her performance was one of the most praised and discussed. Even Carrá herself was surprised and made a statement about it on her Instagram account.
“Well, I’m making this video because this has happened for many years, and before we didn’t have a platform like now to express some things. I just found out that the list of nominees for the Martín Fierro awards has been released. I’m not surprised that I’m not nominated. I’m not being arrogant. I’m saying this not because I wasn’t nominated but because many people know me and I’ve been working for 42 years,” the actress explained, looking into the camera.
She continued: “I think I’ve been nominated only once, and it was given to an unknown person at that time. Now, my character from ATAV, Sarita, isn’t nominated… I wanted to share this here to not feel so… I don’t know… It’s strange. I wanted to share it.”
Later, the actress clarified: “For me, the greatest satisfaction is all the comments you have left me. I wanted to share this because, as always, I imagine someone from Aptra must hate me or they don’t see my work… Well, I don’t know. Those are just things in life.”
“Thank you for always being with me throughout my many years in this career. I don’t need any awards, but I wanted to say it because it’s been so many years. It also happened to me when we did Para vestir santos, María Eugenia wasn’t just not nominated, because maybe they didn’t like it… They didn’t even invite me! And the show won the Martín Fierro de Oro at that time. My character was important,” she shot back.
She concluded: “I didn’t want to stay silent and wanted to share this. Big kiss, and thank you for always supporting me. For me, the most important thing is that you see my work. So, we’ll keep seeing each other here.”
Her statement prompted a series of supportive comments from followers and colleagues. One of the actresses who was also surprised by the omission was Marina Castillo. “It can’t be! It’s completely unfair. You nailed it. You did drama and comedy… An adorable character! You’re glorious, Glo. You don’t need Tinchos to award you! I adore you, Sarita!” expressed her fellow cast member from ATAV 2.
Jorgelina Aruzzi also commented on the issue: “What madness! That character was brilliant, like everything you do. I love you, friend.” Adriana Salonia added her thoughts: “I always watch you and love you! You’re an extraordinary actress, and you excelled as Sarita. Excellent. I adore and admire you. Regarding the Martín Fierro invitations, you’re not alone. I wasn’t invited for El primero de nosotros, and I saw that the whole cast was invited except me.”
Griselda Siciliani stated: “Meche, Evelyn, María Eugenia, Sarita… At least these four characters are, for me, unforgettable, hypnotic, iconic. The Oscar is for you, friend, total inspiration. I admire you. I love you.” Julieta Díaz added, “You’re so wonderful in all your works! I agree. Very well said.”
