The Cicpc seized three Empire Horse motorcycles and a Redmi brand phone, both requested for theft.
Three men directly related to the criminal group “El Chipy”, whose main task was vehicle theft, were apprehended by the security forces in the Ramón Ignacio Méndez parish, in Barinas.
The trio was identified as E. Onorio, J. Rivas Sánchez and L. Figueredo, the latter leader of the criminal gang and who is nicknamed “El Chipy”.
Under the work of field expertise, the officials announced that they operated in the Corralito 1 sector, where they threatened the victims with a firearm and then stripped them of any type of vehicle, be it cars or motorcycles.
The criminals disarmed and obtained the auto parts, to later sell piece by piece on the black market and thus obtain American currency. They used social networks as a means to find a potential buyer.
In the police procedure, they recovered a Redmi brand phone, three Empire Horse model motorcycles and a Jaguar car, which had a record for theft.
A 38mm Smith Wesson revolver was also found, plus a certain amount of ammunition.
The director of the Investigative, Scientific, Criminal and Criminalistics Corps (Cicpc), Douglas Rico, wrote in his official account that the group was “related to three files for vehicle theft.”
The Fourth Prosecutor’s Office of the Republic, with criminal jurisdiction, assumed the judicial process towards the three subjects.
