A little less than six weeks following its arrival in theaters, “Avatar: The Path of Water” it became the sixth highest-grossing opening of all time with a total gross of $1.928 million.
According to the specialized site Varietyhe movies of James Cameron reached this position by beating “Spider-Man: No Way Home«, which had reimbursed 1,910 million.
The ranking of the highest grossing releases is headed precisely by “Avatar”, the first part of this story, with 2,900 million; and complete the top five “Avengers: Endgame”, with 2,790 million; «Titanic”, with 2,200 million; “Star Wars: The awakening of the force”, with 2,069 million; and “Avengers: Infinity War”, with 2,040 million.
If the sequel to “Avatar” surpasses two billion and ranks among the five highest-grossing films, It will be Cameron’s third production in this bunch.
The numbers accumulated by this production are even more impressive if one takes into account that the film was not released in Russiaa country where the first part accumulated more than one hundred million dollars.
