El Azami: “Lahlimi’s statements confirm the government’s confusion and weakness”

The president of the National Council of the Justice and Development Party and former deputy minister in charge of the budget, Dris El Azmi El Idrissi, confirmed that the declarations of Ahmed Lahlimi, high commissioner for planning, on the subject of inflation and the rise in prices, are further proof of the weakness of the September 8 government and of the great void it left on the institutional, political, economic and communication levels.

El Azami explained, in an interview with pjd.ma, that Lahlimi’s statements criticizing Bank Al-Maghrib’s decision regarding the increase in the main interest rate and the performance of the government denotes institutional confusion and a contradiction in the diagnosis and analysis that blurs the economic and social scene more than it is, and accentuates the confusion of citizens who are struggling under the weight of the most expensive standard of living; they no longer know who to believe, at the same time as the economy and social actors are waiting and hesitating, faced with contradictory discourses and analyzes and exchanges of criticism between official institutions.

El Azami stressed that this difficult situation bears the responsibility of the government in the first place, for its inability to impose its authority and prestige and to create harmony and coordination between official institutions and the sectors involved in economic and social affairs. , especially in these difficult countries.

He also dwelled on the nature of the current inflation, describing it as multidimensional and rooted, and insisted on the need for an urgent discussion and a real evaluation of the green plan in the light of the current context, the current crisis having revealed an urgent need to refocus priorities on the food and water security of our country.
