‘Ek Thi Laila,’ a picture of society in the form of a Tik Tokkar girl

A man is not the one who guards a woman, a man is the one who gives her freedom. Anyone can give a cage to a bird. To leave it in the open sky, we need a jigger.

This dialogue of a eunuch had so much life that it changed the direction of the entire series.

‘Ek Thi Laila’ is a drama written in the style of a web series. The last episode of this six-episode drama aired on 12th January on Express TV.

The story is about a ticker girl and the scene is inside Lahore. The first five episodes play out like a puzzle with Leela missing from home and the police looking for her. The five episodes revolve around the search and operation of the Punjab Police. One person after another is being arrested on suspicion, but Laila is not being traced.

The way Punjab Police is infamous, the opposite is seen here because the policeman himself is a hero, he has lost his daughter and is looking for her.

The narrow and dark streets of inner Lahore were chosen for the scene and characters of the play, which have been shrouded in mystery in the whole psyche of man for centuries and every time a new secret is revealed from the mystery.

The life of the residents of these streets is also somewhat mysterious which cannot be compared to the rest of Lahore.

In the first five episodes, the story is made up of the culture existing in these streets. What games are new technologies playing with them and new inventions?

In all the cases of girl tiktokers that have come to light, the girls are victims of more or less the same background and situations as depicted in this drama.

The author has described it so well that the play has become a ‘piece of art’.

Laila cheats on one man after another because she is responsible for her marriage. His stepfather is also keeping bad intentions on him.

According to the culture in Lahore, every young boy considers it his social right to scold every girl. This is why the new path the girls take to save themselves and their future becomes a new world.

The reason for this is that within the same dozen gates, numerous civilizations have lived together for centuries and have developed a new civilization. Which has its own ethics in which the main pillar is survival.

Laila’s father rented a room in the house to a Pathan. He also wants to do to Laila what the rest of the society was doing. The father of Laila’s rich friend also had bad intentions on her. When her paternal fiance comes to know about this, her jealousy causes the engagement to break off, however, her step-mother wants to make her a daughter-in-law to make up for the past with her sister-in-law.

In her life comes Farid, a local shopkeeper who takes her photos from her mobile and misuses them, which becomes a source of blackmail and a source of livelihood for both of them.

In the process of giving money to Farid, she reveals the secret of her friend Saba’s court marriage by offering her father money. Laila also used to work in Saba’s father’s office. From where both of them talk about giving gifts and spending intimate time in big hotels.

Suddenly a policeman comes into her life, he also promises her marriage like everyone else, but in practice he is also a coward.

In the final episode, Leila, who has been a fraud for five episodes, which has landed many lovers in jail, reveals her real life. His stepfather is greedy and greedy. He has closed his eyes on how the house is going. If his eyes are open, he is only looking at Laila’s youth.

To avoid this and to honor her mother, Laila is moving forward with the same thought given to her by the society, that is, a man should marry her, but no one can marry her. It doesn’t, everyone moves forward in time. Laila becomes notorious as a teenager while spending time and looking for a relationship.

The scenes that are created in the neighborhoods are created and everyone gets a chance to point the finger at Laila’s character because Laila is not at home even though Laila is imprisoned somewhere to meet her last character, the policeman.

He arrives, says as much as he can to her and leaves her in the alley of her house in the dark of night.

The police case also ends when the girl reaches home. Inspector Qais gets angry with the case and plans to take leave from his job and go back to the village.

On the way, the same eunuch who works for her in the neighborhood, stops her and makes her realize that he is also a man like the cheating men who promise to marry Laila but cannot be trusted and meanwhile she is so far ahead in the shackles of life that the case goes to the police and life itself is left far behind.

After some time he contacts Inspector Laila again for marriage. He is clean shaven, Leila finds him the same as before.

The story ends here but leaves a mark on the mind.

All played by Jim K. Iqra Aziz has done the job of breathing the soul of the real Laila in her role.

Direction, camera work, location selection, make-up, not only 100% hard work in every aspect of the drama, love is pouring out.

Great work is always done by teamwork. One and one make eleven.

The theme song is of very high quality. In the beginning it doesn’t seem to match the story, but the best choice in the last episode has to be applauded. A scene that has a complete song becomes a big screen scene.

The woman that the society has given birth to with its attitudes is Laila.

You have built this society together. The woman is not alone. A woman’s whole truth is hidden in half your lies.
