Two weeks following his serious right knee injury, Pelicans rookie EJ Liddell, 41st pick in the last Draft, was successfully operated.
His anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee has been “rebuilt”, and it is now the start of a long recovery for the player who was coming out of a big season with the Buckeyes (19.4 points, 8 rebounds).
To make matters worse, he was injured in the Summer League when he had not yet signed his contract with New Orleans, the Louisiana franchise already having 15 players in its squad. He might have claimed a “two-way contract” if his experience in the Summer League had been conclusive.
