Security forces killed eight terrorists and arrested five including facilitators in an intelligence-based operation in Bannu and North Waziristan.
According to the Public Relations Department of the Pakistan Army (ISPR), security forces conducted intelligence-based operations in two districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on September 21. As a result, 8 terrorists were killed and 5 arrested, including the facilitators.
According to ISPR, a heavy exchange of fire took place between security forces and terrorists during the first operation in Janikhel area of Bannu district. As a result of which 6 terrorists were killed while five were arrested.
According to the spokesman of the Pakistan Army, the terrorists who were killed and arrested were involved in a suicide attack by a motorcyclist on an army convoy in Jani Khel on August 31, 2023. As a result of the suicide blast, 9 soldiers were martyred.
Besides, the security forces conducted another operation in Datta Khel area of North Waziristan, during which two terrorists were killed in a fierce exchange of fire. Weapons and ammunition were also recovered from their possession.
According to ISPR, a clearance operation is underway in the surrounding areas to neutralize any other terrorists found in Datta Khel.
Spokesman of Pakistan Army says that the residents of the area appreciated the operation of the security forces and also reiterated their commitment of cooperation. ISPR said that Pakistan’s security forces are committed to eradicating the menace of terrorism.
